WINTER FOREST
For this project, I wanted to go with a dark fantasy aesthetic for console/PC that is often found in series like Game of Thrones, Bloodborne, Skyrim, and the like.
I added elements of gold, laced with serpents in the UI to really sell that "olden fantasy" vibe. The warmer gold tones especially help more important player-related elements "pop" just a bit more on the cold forest backdrop.

ABOUT THE SPLASH SCREEN
I had a lot of fun designing the logo for this one, and infusing it with as much eerie-edginess I could. With the addition of the spooky-wavy effect I gave to the background, I think it really gave it that haunted vibe that pairs so well with the aesthetic I was going for.

ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY
Here I have some pre-vis work that was done to get the idea of how things will be laid out in-game. The asset sheet to the right was made entirely myself and work beautifully in UE4. The tails of some of these elements also slither about, creating a really cool look, without being too busy as to take the player's attention away from the main event: the gameplay.
Below you'll find pre-vis motion samples I would create to give the team an idea of how HUD assets would look in-game. These sorts of examples are quick to make, and are some of the best tools to get everyone on the same page and excited at the same time!

HUD WIREFRAMES
Before any work can be done on the HUD, however, a wireframe of the critical parts that will take the stage here must be laid out. This crucial planning-guide helps both the devs who create the function of these elements, and the artists who create the artwork the player sees and actively interacts with.
