UI DESIGN -
SPOOKY MOBILE GAME
For this project, I wanted to play with a fun Halloween aesthetic, with the cute, spooky colors and the fun shape language to really emphasize the silhouettes.
This project is geared towards mobile games, so I really focused on touch-based controls, and making the UI inviting to tap away at.
*The environment used here was the Mediaeval Dungeon from the Unreal Marketplace

ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY

For the Gameplay, I wanted to focus on a twin-stick style, with the left joystick designed for physically moving around the area, and the left joystick for looking around the area. The button's at the bottom activate abilities, and the goal is to fight through spooky enemies and make it out of the haunted dungeon.

ABOUT THE OPTIONS SCREEN

Touch-screen tap effect
To play on the Halloween look, I thought it would be a fun idea to put the Options menu inside a coffin.
Since this is a mobile game, the player can tap on the option they want to choose.

ABOUT THE INVENTORY SCREEN
I had a lot of fun designing the inventory screen for this project, playing with the silhouette of the houses to play on the playful Halloween feel of this game has.
The icons are made to be simple, with my first priority being to make them easily recognizable at a glance.
Below, I have some of the ability icons further explained

Spook Cannon:
This spooky attack sends a ghost barreling towards enemies. This ability is designed to look like a little ghost is being blasted towards unsuspecting enemies.
Bat-Attack:
This ability is designed to look like a bat is charging at its enemies, chasing it's pray until it hits it's mark! When activated, a bat would fly out towards the player's intended target.

Pumpkin's Glare:
This ability calls upon the frightful pumpkin ghost, who freezes it's enemies in fear of it's ghoulish glare. The Icon is designed to highlight the pumpkin's frightful glare.
