UI DESIGN -
POLAR SCI-FI FACILITY
For this series of projects, I thought it would be a fun idea to take pre-set environments from the Epic Games marketplace and design UI for it, based on the look and feel of the pack.
This one has a very high-tech sci-fi feel to it so I stayed true to that feel, while giving it a bit of a ruined, abandoned look to it with the glitch effects.
*The environment used here was the Polar Sci-Fi Facility from the Unreal Marketplace

Sci-Fi UI Splash Screen In-Game

ABOUT THE SPLASH SCREEN

Sci-Fi Splash Screen
The splash screen is the first thing the player sees when entering a new area, giving them a sense of what is to come. With that in mind, I added some nice glitch effects to really sell the "abandoned facility" aesthetic.
To make it, I started in CLIP STUDIO PAINT, where I created the logo and other glitchy parts to later bring into Adobe After Effects. There, I animated the piece, exported it, and then brought it into Unreal Engine 4 where it all came together.

Sci-Fi Gameplay HUD

ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY
Before bringing it to engine, I mocked up what the HUD would look like in CSP.
Wireframes are crucial for the creation of a good feeling HUD, so here's mine for the Sci-Fi Facility, as well as the asset sheet I created for this project.

Sci-Fi Pause Menu
UI DESIGN - POLAR SCI-FI FACILITY
ABOUT THE PAUSE MENU

For the Pause Menu, I wanted to give a very sleek, future-tech feel to it, and really play with transition effects to add in that wow-factor.
To create this screen, I started with creating the draft, assets, and the mock-up for the menu in CLIP STUDIO PAINT. I then exported the assets and animated it in Adobe After Effects.
